PSA: "Yes, Virginia. Facebook can get yo' blacque azz fired!"
I don't do Face book, lol unless I am on there to connect professionally with old colleague, classmates, and not on there to make Friends to gossip about people.
Then I suggest that you switch to LinkedIN. It's the corporate professional's version of FB. They do the same stuff except without all of the gossip, games, and other BS. Give them a shot if you're not already on there.

This is another reason I've left several friend requests pending from co-workers. I've seen them sitting at work sharing pages of others who have not accepted them as friends. As a manager I have seen the pages of staff and former staff who have made comments about things going on at the agency and their opinions about agency decisions bad move because management is also on FB and we see their comments. A biotch even called in sick and posted about what fun she was having in New York on her long weekend ahhhhhhhhhhh.
Mr. Cholly's got a lot of tricks up his sleeve but we just better make sure we don't hang ourselves. It's best to keep your FB page private to your chosen circle of friends and NOT their friends this is a small world.

That's what I'm talking about. As soon as management breezes that kind of stuff past HR and there's a company-wide need to reduce staff, HR can use FB postings against anybody that they wanted to get rid of.

It DOES NOT matter about privacy settings, the FBI, Police and Employers have a strong presence on Face book, this is why I will NOT post there.
It won't just get you fired from the job you have, but will also prevent people from hiring you, especially if you are self employed. Trust me, people are checking out there plumbers, hairstylist, babysitters, mechanics,...you name it. Not to mention, companies who are hiring regularly check out social networking sites like FB.
All so true but many people don't believe it... just check out www.lamebook.com to see some of the dumb stuff people put on their pages!
